Alessandro Florio

Alessandro Florio (born 1979 in Taormina, Sicily) is a self-taught contemporary Italian painter and tattoo artist. Initially gaining recognition through his visionary tattoo studio, Puto Amor Tattoo, he transitioned to large-scale painting after a transformative visit to the Louvre, inspired to explore bigger canvases. Based in Taormina, Florio's vibrant acrylic and oil works draw deeply from Sicilian heritage, nature, animals, and Mediterranean motifs, blending bold colors with influences from Oriental art, Byzantine mosaics, and sacred symbolism. His evocative compositions explore memory, identity, and human connection. Represented by galleries such as Maddox Gallery, Florio has exhibited internationally, including solo shows in Taormina and installations in Miami. He continues to live and work in Sicily with his family. 

• Established a renowned career as a visionary tattoo artist and owner of Puto Amor Tattoo studio in Taormina, Sicily.

• Transitioned to large-scale painting following a transformative visit to the Louvre, expanding his expressive medium.

• Represented by international Maddox Gallery, with works featured in global collections and platforms like Artsy and Artnet.

• Participated in Art Miami during Art Basel in December 2024, where all three presented paintings sold within two days.
