Matrixdock launches XAUm tokenized gold on Circle Arc with same-day USDC path

Matrixdock, the real-world asset arm of BIT Group, said on September 23 that it has launched Matrixdock Gold (XAUm) on Arc, the open EVM-compatible Layer-1 built by Circle—bringing that network its first tokenized gold asset, according to a PR Newswire release dated the same day. Eligible XAUm redemptions are framed as supporting same-day access to USDC proceeds once required transaction evidence is submitted, subject to applicable terms. XAUm/USDC liquidity is also listed as available through Uniswap on Arc for onchain exchange between the gold token and Circle’s dollar stablecoin.

Each XAUm token, Matrixdock says, represents one troy ounce of 99.99% purity gold sourced from LBMA Good Delivery refineries and held in allocated form in vaults operated by Brink’s and Malca-Amit in Hong Kong SAR and Singapore. The company points to token-to-bar allocation records, monthly reserve statements, onchain proof of reserves, and independent physical audits by Bureau Veritas as the verification stack. Those are issuer claims—attribute them as Matrixdock’s product description, not as independently re-audited desk findings for this wire.

The settlement pitch contrasts London’s conventional T+2 gold cycle for unallocated metal with a faster handoff into onchain dollars for eligible redemptions. Matrixdock’s Eva Meng said gold has long been an institutional reserve asset while “holding it and using it have always been two different things,” arguing that on Arc gold can sit “alongside dollar liquidity rather than apart from it.” Circle’s Nikhil Chandhok, Chief Product and Technology Officer, said tokenization paired with USDC addresses limits of traditional market infrastructure and that Matrixdock’s Arc launch “brings greater onchain utility and broader reach to tokenized gold.” Quote attribution stays with the release; do not invent volume, AUM, or first-day Uniswap depth figures the PR does not print.

Readers should treat the “same-day USDC” language carefully. The September 23 announcement says eligible redemptions can unlock same-day USDC access after evidence is submitted and does not erase physical custody, sale, or settlement mechanics underneath. Secondary coverage has noted that Matrixdock’s own mint/redeem documentation has historically described stablecoin settlement windows such as T+3 in places—so desks should read the live eligibility rules rather than assume every XAUm burn pays USDC before the clock turns. The PR’s Hong Kong/Singapore vault references are location notes for facilities, not a claim that XAUm is offered in those jurisdictions.

Why this sits on the Real-World Utility desk: Arc is Circle’s institutional L1 bet, and putting LBMA-linked gold next to native USDC rails is a concrete RWA expansion beyond Treasuries and deposits already crowding tokenization headlines. Matrixdock also issues XAGm (silver) and STBT (tokenized short-term U.S. Treasuries) and says it architected Bhutan’s TER gold token for GMC—context for the issuer’s Reserve Layer strategy, not proof that Arc will instantly host the same suite. BIT Group’s regulated footprint across Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, Switzerland, the UK, the U.S., and Bhutan is company biography from the release, not a substitute for reading which entities actually issue or redeem XAUm on Arc.

NFT and crypto collectors still care because programmable collateral and settlement assets reshape what can sit beside NFT bids denominated in stablecoins. A gold token that can route into USDC on the same network Circle is pushing for agentic and institutional flows is a different instrument from ETH-denominated floors—but it is the kind of reserve asset that can back lending and market-making liquidity around collectibles if integrations arrive. Matrixdock says it and third parties will explore trading, lending, and collateral use cases, with specific integrations to be announced by the relevant providers. Until those print, treat Uniswap XAUm/USDC availability as the live onchain venue claim and keep separate any NFT marketplace volume already wrapped earlier today.

What to cite cleanly: PR Newswire / Matrixdock September 23, 2026 announcement; XAUm live on Arc as that chain’s first tokenized gold; one ounce per token at 99.99% LBMA Good Delivery gold; vaults via Brink’s and Malca-Amit; eligible same-day USDC redemption proceeds subject to terms and evidence; Uniswap XAUm/USDC liquidity on Arc; quotes from Eva Meng and Nikhil Chandhok. What not to invent: day-one TVL, Uniswap volume, that every redemption is same-day, that Arc validators were named in this release, or that NFT floors moved because of this listing.

Orange County desks watching RWA rails should next check whether Arc explorers show meaningful XAUm transfer and Uniswap pool depth, whether Matrixdock publishes Arc-specific redeem docs that reconcile same-day USDC language with any lingering T+3 stablecoin settlement copy, and whether Circle or Matrixdock name lending partners. For collectors sizing ETH and USDC bids into SuperRare and CryptoPunks tape already live this week, this is a settlement-layer add—not a substitute for secondary NFT sales prints.

Bottom line: On September 23, Matrixdock launched XAUm tokenized gold on Circle’s Arc—the network’s first gold RWA—with claimed Uniswap XAUm/USDC liquidity and eligible same-day USDC redemption access subject to terms, an unused Real-World Utility wire for Orange County’s afternoon cycle.
