Sky Mavis enabled Atia Original Crystal (AOC) redemption on App.axie, reopening a long-closed path to mint Origin Axies on the Ronin network. Holders combine five crystals to summon one Origin; each summon permanently burns five AOC. Remaining circulating crystals total 1,375 units, enough for a hard maximum of 275 Origins if every crystal is redeemed—after which no new AOC can enter circulation.
AOC traces back to the February 2018 Axie Infinity Origin presale, which capped Origins at 4,088 units and later awarded referral tokens that became Axie Origin Coin, with five tokens redeemable for one Origin. The original redemption rail ran on Ethereum until January 2022. On January 22, 2024, the remaining 1,375 AOC migrated from Ethereum to Ronin under the Atia Original Crystal name, but the public redemption interface stayed dark until today’s App.axie launch.

That history lands in a GameFi market that still prices provenance. Origin Axies from the 2018 cohort sit at the top of Axie’s collectible ladder, and reopening AOC redemption is one of the few remaining ways to mint into that capped class without waiting on Sky Mavis raffles.
