ZetaChain holder vote would migrate ZETA 1:1 to Solana SPL as L1 winds down

ZetaChain has a live governance clock running into September 20: holders are voting on a proposal to migrate ZETA onto Solana as a native SPL token on a 1:1 basis, then wind down the project’s own layer-1 once balances move. The company’s September 17 blog says voting opened that day for 72 hours on ZetaHub, and that nothing migrates before the vote passes. Solana Compass’s September 19 wrap puts the same deadline in front of NFT and crypto desks watching Solana’s AI-and-agent stack fill out. KuCoin’s flash coverage of the same proposal repeats the core economics: same ticker, unchanged supply, and no execution until holders finish voting.
This is not a wrapped-bridge story. ZetaChain’s FAQ states a wrapped token would need the original locked on a chain that would no longer exist after an L1 wind-down, so the proposal instead creates a native Solana SPL as the only ZETA. Total supply stays unchanged, the ticker stays ZETA, vesting dates stay on schedule, and balances—including locked, staked, and Anuma credit positions in the Token Dashboard—are supposed to map 1:1. ZETA already on Ethereum and BSC is explicitly out of scope for this proposal, according to the blog. Most holders, the company says, should not need to do anything if the mechanics land as written; the operational work sits with exchanges confirming conversions and with ZetaChain publishing those venues before funds move.
The product pitch traveling with the token is Anuma, ZetaChain’s private multi-model AI app. The company claims more than 300,000 users since February, more than one million requests across 35 models, and thousands of new sign-ups daily, with live metrics pointed at zetachain.com/research. Every Anuma account is a wallet, so a successful migration would put that user base onto Solana on day one. ZETA already powers Anuma credits: lock ZETA, receive credits for AI usage, and locked tokens leave circulating supply. On Solana, ZetaChain wants that same token to become a common access layer for other AI apps and agents. A newer Anuma beta feature extends the pitch into real-life social discovery—finding people nearby worth meeting—while the privacy model still claims encrypted user-held memory keys and private-mode routing that limits what closed model providers can see.
Why Solana, in ZetaChain’s own words: open-intelligence compute, an Agent Registry for identity, and x402 payment rails where Solana already carries most of the traffic—more than 20 million payments since July, per the announcement. The blog cites confirmations around 400 milliseconds, median fees about a tenth of a cent, test throughput above 100,000 transactions per second, seven straight quarters as the top chain for DEX volume, and more than $15 billion in stablecoins. Those are company claims aimed at agent-scale memory reads and metered inference, not independent desk measurements. For collectors already living in Solana NFT and meme rails, the relevant point is simpler: another consumer AI wallet cohort is trying to land where DEX depth and agent payments already concentrate. ZetaChain also frames Solana DEX activity around $70 billion a month as the liquidity backdrop ZETA would inherit if the SPL migration clears.
If the vote fails, ZetaChain says it continues as an independent L1 and the token setup does not change. If it passes, validators and staking keep running until the migration completes, then Solana validators take over network responsibilities. Exchange conversions still depend on each venue confirming the swap, and the company says participating exchanges will be listed before anything moves. Staking rewards on Solana remain under active exploration in the formal proposal. There is still no fixed migration calendar beyond the September 17–20 voting window. Holders who want a say can vote at hub.zetachain.com/governance while the clock is still open.
Dev Pulse’s Saturday read stays tight. A live holder vote would retire an independent L1 in favor of a native Solana SPL, carrying Anuma’s claimed 300,000-plus user base and a lock-to-credit ZETA utility model into Solana’s AI stack. That is a product-and-governance wire for NFT desks tracking Solana liquidity, agent payments, and on-chain culture apps—not a confirmed listing date and not a guarantee exchanges will mirror the swap on day one. Watch ZetaHub through September 20, then the exchange confirmation list, before treating ZETA-on-Solana as settled tape.
