Backpack CEO targets 10,000 tokenized stocks on Solana via one API

Backpack CEO Armani Ferrante said the next leap for tokenized stocks on Solana is expanding from about 200 symbols toward 10,000, with a single API meant to move a “real share” between brokerage accounts and DeFi, according to a September 26 clip shared by Solana’s official account and reported by Printhereum, Lookonchain, and PANews. “Not 10 stocks, not 100 stocks. We want to bring the entire stock market to Solana,” Ferrante said in the clip. Attribute the 10,000 target and API framing to Ferrante / Solana’s post—do not invent a rollout date the announcement did not give.
What the 200-to-10,000 jump is—and is not. Printhereum notes the 200-symbol figure comes from Ferrante’s own starting-point description; the Solana post does not establish that Backpack Securities has already issued 200 separate tokenized stocks on Solana as circulating tokens. Treat 10,000 as a stated next target, not as inventory live today. PANews separately flagged Backpack’s BP token printing an early-day all-time high near $1.43—market color only, not proof the equity roadmap shipped.
How Backpack describes the brokerage-to-chain path. The firm’s securities platform, introduced in June, lets eligible customers hold U.S. stocks and ETFs through a brokerage service and convert eligible holdings into tokenized securities on Solana; depositing a supported token back through Backpack Exchange converts it into a traditional security entitlement, per company materials summarized by Printhereum. Backpack says brokerage holdings are security entitlements under New York UCC Article 8, with cash dividends, corporate actions, and transfers via ACATS and DTCC rails on the brokerage side.
Onchain form and product caveats RWA desks should keep. On Solana, Backpack-issued tokens can sit in compatible wallets, transfer between users, and—subject to each app’s rules—touch DeFi. Backpack’s own Micron product copy draws a line between brokerage and tokenized forms: brokerage holders get cash dividends through traditional infrastructure, while token holders see dividends reinvested into additional tokens and corporate actions as proportional balance changes. The SEC’s January staff statement already warned that third-party tokenized securities do not all carry the same rights as the underlying share—attribute that distinction to the SEC / Printhereum, not as a claim that every ticker token equals a brokerage stock.
Recent Backpack equity product color, as backdrop only. A June SPCX/Sunrise SpaceX tokenized product, July continuous-trading coverage for non-U.S. users on names tied to SpaceX, Micron, and SanDisk, and a September 23 CoreWeave CRWV mint/redeem path on Solana show the firm’s existing convert-in / convert-out pattern. Those prior desks do not equal a live 10,000-name catalogue—Ferrante’s Sep. 26 clip is a roadmap statement layered on that stack.
Regulatory backdrop without over-claiming Backpack’s status. On September 17, the SEC granted conditional relief for certain venues to trade tokenized NMS stocks through permissioned AMMs and liquidity pools under a five-year framework with symbol and volume limits. Qualifying venues must verify equivalent rights, notify issuers when unaffiliated parties tokenize a name, keep contracts public and auditable, and halt token trading when the underlying is halted. Printhereum stresses the SEC announcement does not identify Backpack as a participating venue or state that its current products operate under that exemption—do not invent that link.
Rejected near-echos for this tick. Coinbase Mag-7 stocks as USDC collateral on Aave V4 Base is LN 9767. Ethena’s Binance bStocks USDe equity basis is LN 9765. CryptoSlam’s $55.5 million NFT week / CryptoPunks lead is LN 9769. Quit’s reclaim portal is LN 9761. Ethena ending ENA incentives for USDe stakers stays an alternate unused stables angle—held so this slot takes Ferrante’s unused Solana stock-market target. Dinari’s planned Sei S&P 500 dShares path remains planned, not this live-quote story.
Why Real-World Utility / RWA 53 plus Latest News 16 (no Editor’s Pick—Sep 26 OC EP already 5/5). A Solana-circulated Backpack roadmap from ~200 toward 10,000 tokenized symbols with a brokerage↔DeFi API is unused RWA product news distinct from Aave’s Base Equities Hub. Desk 53 fits the tokenized-equity beat. Author is Crypto Wire for desk 53. Publicize stays off.
What not to invent: a launch date for the 10,000-symbol set, that 200 tokens are already circulating as counted inventory, that Backpack is named under the SEC’s Sep. 17 exemption, that every Backpack stock token carries identical rights to a brokerage share, or that BP’s $1.43 print proves the equity expansion shipped. Stick to Ferrante / Solana / Printhereum / PANews / Lookonchain attributions for the target, API quote, and caveats.
Bottom line: Backpack’s Ferrante, in a Sep. 26 Solana-shared clip, set a 10,000-symbol tokenized-stock target on Solana via one brokerage↔DeFi API—unused RWA news for Sep 26 OC, with no rollout date disclosed.
