BitMine Adds 12,535 ETH to Reach 6.04 Million Near Alchemy of 5%

BitMine Immersion Technologies said it bought another 12,535 ETH over the past week, lifting its Ethereum treasury to 6,041,481 ETH as of October 18, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. ET — about 4.9% of a 122.1 million ETH supply print and, in the company’s words, 99% of the way to its Alchemy of 5% goal. Marked at $2,365 per ETH on Coinbase, the stack sits inside a broader $15.1 billion book of crypto, cash and marketable securities, and “moonshot” equity stakes. This chapter updates the desk’s earlier Alchemy print when BitMine first cleared 6,001,302 ETH after a 17,362 weekly buy.

Chairman Thomas “Tom” Lee framed the tape as a de-risking spillover, not a broken treasury thesis. He pointed to compressed risk appetite around AI funding and model-safety worries, U.S.–Iran tension, midterm-election anxiety, and rising global bond yields — a mix he said hit semiconductor and memory equities and then Korea and Taiwan, where those names dominate. Because crypto is widely held in the U.S., Korea, and Taiwan, Lee argued that regional de-risking still pushes digital-asset books even when, in his view, fundamentals stay resilient. For NFT bid currency, that is the relevant hinge: ETH spot and corporate treasury prints still set the bid wall collectors feel on Ethereum floors.

The same October 19 release keeps the weekly-buy streak intact. Lee said BitMine has purchased ETH every week since the treasury strategy began on June 30, 2025, and called that cadence unmatched among public companies. Beside the ETH core, the snapshot lists 215 BTC, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries, a $74 million stake in Eightco Holdings (NASDAQ: ORBS), and $582 million in cash and marketable securities. Those “moonshot” and cash lines do not change the Alchemy denominator — they matter for how much dry powder the desk can still throw at ETH without a new capital raise.

Staking is still the yield leg of the story. BitMine reported 5,067,309 ETH staked — about $12 billion at the same $2,365 mark, or roughly 84% of the 6.04 million ETH held. Using a 2.58% seven-day BMNR yield, Lee put annualized staking revenue near $309 million on about 5.1 million staked ETH, rising to a projected $369 million if the full stack were staked through MAVAN and partners. Those are company projections, not guaranteed cash flows; yield compresses when more ETH stakes network-wide, and protocol or operator risk still sits on every validator set.

BitMine again ranked itself the world’s largest Ethereum treasury and the second-largest digital-asset treasury behind Strategy’s bitcoin book. It also tied the accumulation path to U.S. policy rails, citing the GENIUS Act and the SEC’s Project Crypto as structural modernizers — the same calendar the policy desk is tracking with Treasury’s GENIUS Act comment window closing October 19. Corporate ETH treasury demand and stablecoin rulemaking are different instruments, but both move the settlement layer that NFT marketplaces clear against.

Read the print as a concentration and cadence update, not a floor call. A single public buyer sitting near 5% of ETH supply can still lean into dips — and can also become a headline overhang if financing, staking ops, or disclosure friction appears. For collectors, the near-term tell is whether the weekly buy size holds while ETH trades the low-$2,300s in this release’s mark, and whether staked share keeps climbing toward the fully-staked projection Lee used for the $369 million run-rate.

Tape watch: The next BitMine weekly print that shows buy size, total ETH, staked ETH, and the Alchemy percentage against the same supply denominator — that is the receipt that confirms whether the 12,535 ETH clip was a routine refill or the start of a slower accumulation lane into the final 0.1% of the 5% goal.

Bottom line: BitMine’s October 19 print adds 12,535 ETH for the week and puts the treasury at 6,041,481 ETH — 4.9% of supply and 99% of Alchemy of 5% — with 5.07 million ETH staked inside a $15.1 billion holdings book.
