World Liberty USD1 Sheds About $401M as Redemptions Concentrate on Ethereum and BNB

World Liberty Financial’s USD1 stablecoin printed about $4.02 billion in market capitalization on Monday, October 19, 2026, down from roughly $4.43 billion on October 6 — a cut of about $401 million, or 9.1%, according to CoinGecko figures reported by Cointelegraph. World Liberty’s own proof-of-reserves dashboard showed about $4.01 billion in reserves on the same day. For collectors who clear NFT bids in dollar stables, that is a settlement-size story: less circulating USD1 means fewer rails on the chains where the token was already concentrated.

On-chain research from OnChain Benchmark, reading contract supply through the October 15 close, put the three-chain decline at $385.03 million (8.71%) from the October 6 close, leaving about $4.04 billion across Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana. Ethereum accounted for $184.60 million in net redemptions across 63 burns; BNB Chain recorded $200.43 million across 12 burns. Solana stayed flat near $1.42 billion with no offsetting mint. Transfers between Ethereum and BNB Chain totaled under $1 million, so the missing supply was burned, not simply hopped.

Concentration is the settlement desk’s main flag. On BNB Chain, about $200 million of the $200.50 million sent for redemption originated at a single unlabeled address, moving in $30 million to $50 million lots. On Ethereum, more than 99% of redeemed tokens passed through a wallet labeled BitGo — USD1’s current issuer and custodian — fed mostly by two deposit contracts. Neither path names the beneficial holders or their reasons. The peg held: OnChain Benchmark and Cointelegraph both put USD1 between roughly $0.998 and $1.000 through the window, so this chapter is a supply contraction, not a depeg chase.

Peer stables on Ethereum did not shrink as hard over the same nine-day OnChain Benchmark window. USD1 on Ethereum fell 11.45%, against 4.93% for USDe, 2.18% for USDC, and 0.76% for circulating USDT, while PYUSD and RLUSD expanded 2.57% and 6.11%. A broad risk-off tape can explain direction; it does not explain the relative size of the USD1 cut. The three-chain mix also broke: by the October 15 close, BNB Chain’s share had slipped below 30%, with Solana nearly level with Ethereum after sitting in a near-even three-way split in late September.

Issuer handover is the forward risk. BitGo still issues and custodies USD1 today; World Liberty’s trust company holds conditional OCC approval from August and plans to take over issuance and custody under a federal trust charter that a community-bank trade group has challenged in court. BitGo’s latest published reserve report cited in the research — for August 31 — matched 4.20 billion USD1 with $4.20 billion in cash and government money-market fund shares. The next issuer-side reserve print will be the first official book that has to absorb these October burns. That calendar sits beside the policy desk’s GENIUS Act comment window closing October 19 without replacing it — different rulebooks, same collector question of which dollar tokens stay liquid for marketplace settlement.

Treat Monday’s CoinGecko level as confirmation that the mid-October on-chain burn window still shows in public market-cap prints, not as proof of a single whale thesis. Large unlabeled redemption lots can be treasury rebalancing, exchange inventory, or multi-client intermediaries. What the chain does prove is speed: a few channels can move nearly a tenth of a multi-billion dollar stablecoin’s three-chain float in days while the peg holds.

Settlement watch: The next BitGo or World Liberty reserve disclosure that revises outstanding USD1 after the October burns — and any Solana mint print that rebuilds supply ahead of the issuer handoff — is the receipt that tells collectors whether October set the size World Liberty inherits or was a temporary float reset.

Bottom line: Monday’s CoinGecko print puts USD1 near $4.02 billion after roughly $401 million of market-cap loss since October 6, matching an OnChain Benchmark read of $385 million in Ethereum and BNB Chain redemptions — peg intact, issuer handoff still ahead.
