Initia Sets Nov. 2 Restart for L1 and Rollups After Audited MoveVM Patch
By Node Zero
October 30, 2026
Initia has dated the restart. The project said its Layer 1 and rollups are planned to resume operations on Monday, November 2, 2026 — the unused protocol fact after this desk’s Oct. 27 “fix drafted, under audit” chapter. That earlier update promised concrete recovery plans once audits finished and left the restart clock blank. Today’s post fills the calendar: an independently audited MoveVM patch, isolation of the attacker’s remaining forged balances, additional safeguards, and no rollback of transaction history.
Asset backing is scheduled to come back before the chain lights up again. Initia says support for AUSD0, USDC.n, and WETH will be fully restored ahead of the restart, with no user action required. The Initia DEX will begin paused for a brief window while a designated account rebalances pools toward market prices; any profits from that rebalancing are slated to return to liquidity providers hit by the incident. Bridges and exchanges are expected to resume transfers after network monitoring. LayerZero OFT withdrawals for WETH and AUSD0 will sit on a 24-hour delay “out of an abundance of caution,” with more instructions promised once the network is fully live Monday.
The Oct. 23 MoveVM script-cache exploit remains the spine, not a rewrite. Initia’s incident note said an attacker spoofed MoveVM state to credit unbacked WETH, iUSD, and USDC without changing those tokens’ total supplies, bridged out roughly $2.7 million before the halt — about 105 WETH and ~1.4 million AUSD0 via LayerZero plus ~1.08 million USDC via Noble/CCTP — and swapped into about 1,135.52 ETH still tracked to 0x358e…cac8 on Ethereum. No native INIT was minted; INIT supply was unchanged. Prefer that primary incident math and the Nov. 2 restart post over social claims that forged balances are already gone or that bridges are live today.
Protocol care stays on what the upgrade does and does not claim. An independently audited MoveVM patch is not a published audit PDF in this chapter unless Initia links one; “isolate remaining forged balances” is an operator plan, not a public proof that every spoofed credit is already zero. Preserving transaction history means desks should not expect a history wipe as the recovery path. Nest the restart under the Initia mint-bridge exploit tracker without inventing a post-mortem Initia said it still plans to publish later.
Adjacent desks stay labeled. Binance’s withdrawal-reopen and PoR calendar, Coinbase’s EEA non-MiCA conversion day, and Solana’s Alpenglow finality trail remain separate Orange County files. Korean venue trading-caution chapters on INIT stay nested context — already on the wire — not today’s discovery. This chapter only updates the protocol restart clock after the audited-patch path clears.
Restart dates can slip without a new exploit. If Initia delays Nov. 2, publishes the independent audit report, posts live bridge/DEX status, or moves the 1,135.52 ETH tracker wallet, that belongs in a follow-on. This update keeps the dated Monday restart, the audited MoveVM upgrade, the asset-backing restore, and the 24-hour OFT withdrawal caution as the Oct. 30 Dev Pulse print.
Next protocol beat: Watch whether Initia’s L1 and rollups actually come live Monday with AUSD0 / USDC.n / WETH backing restored — and whether the DEX rebalance window and LayerZero 24-hour OFT delays clear without a second halt.
Bottom line: Initia dated a November 2 L1 and rollup restart after an independently audited MoveVM patch — the calendar UPDATE beyond the Oct. 27 audit-pending chapter.
