Soneium Plans Native SONEIUM Token With IP Vault and Entertainment Bonds

Sony-backed Ethereum layer-2 Soneium said on Monday, October 26, 2026 that it plans to issue a native ecosystem token, $SONEIUM, and roll out Tokenized IP products that put entertainment royalties and rights onchain. The project’s official blog frames the network as an “onchain entertainment economy” with more than 250 applications across music, games, anime, film, collectibles, and fan creations. TokenPost stresses the token has not been issued and that no token-generation-event date has been set. This is an RWA chapter: royalty-backed and entertainment-business claims — not a restatement of the earlier DayOneDream / WAVIST partnership note.

The product stack is three Tokenized IP forms plus a portal. An IP Token can represent a creator, studio, or title as either a collectible or a fungible IP currency; Soneium names Moriusa, a character IP from Tokyo’s Super State Holdings, as the first IP Token. IP Vault is pitched for royalty-backed assets and entertainment investment opportunities such as music catalog funds. Tokenized IP Bond products are described as bonds backed by entertainment businesses. Soneium Portal is the official discovery and participation hub for those products, starting with primary sales and expanding into fan participation and royalty distribution. Startale App remains the stated gateway into the ecosystem.

K-pop royalties sit inside the bond lane. Soneium says it is working with DayOneDream — manager of artists and franchises including BTOB, Lee Chae-yeon, MEMI, and 2F — to bring concert-business royalties onchain as Tokenized IP Bonds so fans and investors can share in live-tour and entertainment-IP value. That is a Monday product framing from Soneium’s own post, not a claim that those bonds are already trading or that any royalty stream has settled onchain today. Attribute live-market status only when a portal sale or on-chain settlement receipt posts.

Under the hood, Soneium describes an Onchain IP Architecture with three layers: an IP Registry for timestamped origin, metadata, and ownership; an IP Graph mapping originals, derivatives, collaborations, fan works, and AI-assisted content; and an IP Execution Layer that distributes royalties, revenue splits, and licensing payments through smart contracts under rules the IP owner sets. The network also says it supports ERC-8432, an open Ethereum standard for machine-readable IP registries and licenses, as an AI-era rights interface that complements — rather than replaces — existing copyright frameworks. Separately, Soneium says it is planning a base gas-fee adjustment for network resilience; it did not publish the new fee schedule in Monday’s post.

Network context stays modest beside the Sony brand. Crypto Briefing’s Monday wrap put Soneium total value locked near $9.38 million, with mainnet live since January 14, 2025 on Optimism’s OP Stack and gas still paid in ETH. USDSC is already live for settlements on the chain, which matters if royalty rails are meant to clear in something steadier than a volatile ecosystem token. Head of Soneium Protocol Yuji Kumagai’s blog quote casts the chapter as standing behind creators’ funding and fan connection — company voice, not an independent market print. Do not invent a TGE date, airdrop size, or securities classification for IP Bonds; those remain open until Soneium posts terms and a live sale.

Utility check: $SONEIUM, IP Vault, and IP Bonds are announced product plans — watch for a dated TGE, a live Soneium Portal primary for Moriusa, and the first DayOneDream concert-royalty bond terms before treating any of this as tradeable royalty paper.

Bottom line: Soneium’s October 26 post plans a native $SONEIUM token alongside IP Vault and entertainment-backed IP Bonds, with Moriusa as the first IP Token — TGE and live royalty sales still undated.
