Starknet Foundation Launches Bramble Wallet With STRK20 Shielding

The Starknet Foundation launched Bramble on October 20, 2026 — a Starknet-native self-custody wallet built to swap, store, and shield assets, with STRK20 private balances as the headline feature. Same-week coverage into October 21 from CryptoBriefing and The Defiant puts the product at bramble.fi as a Chrome extension only for now (side panel beside the dapp). This is a Marketplace Watch wallet-surface chapter — not a new NFT royalty schedule and not a custody bank M&A beat.
Feature cut: users hold their own keys; can move public tokens into STRK20 private balances and send private transfers from inside the wallet; Ledger hardware signing; multisig accounts; encrypted local vaults and spending allowances. Account-abstraction notes in secondary wraps cite OpenZeppelin and Argent-style contracts. Timeline: mid-September hints, beta from October 12, public tease October 19, launch October 20. Listed Chrome build cited around 0.10.5. Bramble’s own thread warns to download only from bramble.fi and treat other links as fake.
Privacy limits matter: Starknet compliance docs (via secondary desks) say deposits still expose the depositor’s address and describe a viewing-key path for lawful audit tracing — do not market Bramble as absolute anonymity. STRK20 shielding is also not the same as Starknet “shadow accounts” (per-app identities whose balances can still be public); Bramble’s launch docs emphasize balance shielding and do not clearly claim full shadow-account API support. Ready X and Xverse were already named in Starknet’s June STRK20 wallet rollout — Bramble is the Foundation-built Chrome option joining that set, not the first shielding wallet on Starknet.
For NFT and marketplace desks, the useful cut is Starknet collectible and dapp UX: a Foundation Chrome side-panel wallet with shielding competes for the same “connect wallet” slot as other Starknet clients when traders move NFT or token inventory. Bramble’s site previews collectibles management — treat that as product UI, not a claim Bramble replaces OpenSea or Magic Eden. Chrome-only at launch means mobile and non-Chrome users stay on other wallets until wider clients ship.
Prior Fearless Wallet key-leak LN stays a separate Rug Room browser-extension security chapter; today’s beat is a Foundation-shipped Starknet wallet with intentional STRK20 privacy tooling. Prior Fhenix / Gloam privacy LNs are EVM/stablecoin rails — different stacks.
Venue watch: Watch whether Bramble adds Firefox/mobile, whether STRK20 private-transfer volume shows up on Starknet explorers, whether shadow-account APIs get explicit support, and whether the Foundation publishes a security audit for the Chrome build — the desk cares about client reach and verified privacy limits, not the vine logo alone.
Bottom line: Bramble is live as the Starknet Foundation’s Chrome self-custody wallet with STRK20 shielding, Ledger, and multisig — privacy tooling is real, but Chrome-only reach and compliance viewing-key limits still bound the story.
